Stressful Machine!,

This review is from: Brother MFC-255CW - Wireless Multifunction Printer/ Copier/ Scanner/ Fax (Electronics)
It's fantastic that there are so many things in this one machine, a fax machine, a scanner, a copier and a printer. But that's it. For the first month this machine ran beautifully but then it just repeatedly made me want to pull my hair out! There are constant paper jams, constant error messages stating that there is no paper when there actually more than it needs inside, it has trouble connecting to the computer when scanning and most of all if just one ink cartridge is neat empty or actually is, the machine refuses to do anything. I would understand obviously if it didn't want to print, but refusing to scan just makes no sense simply because ink has nothing to do with scanning. It's a ridiculous machine and can be compared to a disgruntled toddler as it just refuses to work most of the time. Stay clear of this machine and proceed with caution with other Brother products!

Sent to Earth by Satan, to cause strife and misery,

Cons:
This machine is made of plastic, tears of stillborn babies, the hatred from condemed criminals, some metal, and the combined madness of a buring lunatic asylum. It has been sent here to Earth, to hasten the apocolypse.
It starts off working fine. It has good print quality, you can print wirelessly, and do many functions, but that is how the Devil lures you in...with false hope based on nothing but lies.
Your innocence, and love of humanity becomes shattered the second you run out of any one color of ink. Which, as this infernal machine is designed, will be all of them. At once. See, unless you are actively printing lots of color pages and actualy using that ink, it just sits there. Well sitting ink doesn't put money in the bank of Brother. So it expires. When did ink become like milk? Well, it didn't. But according to brother, their cartridges expire (I.E. stop working for no f-n reason what so ever) so as that you don't run 'old' ink through...Read more

not so amazing disappearing ink trick,

Just FYI the ink magically disappears from this printer... I have switched to only printing in black and white with my MFC-255CW. I replaced all of my ink cartridges 46 days ago, because even to print in black and white it requires that I have ink in ALL cartridges. One other note is that if you take the ink cartridge out and put it back in it will say that it's empty. I found that out after accidentally ejecting a cartridge that was not even low when I was changing the other cartridges and the printer said it was gone after I put it back it. That was upsetting, so I bought another printer (which I LOVE!) and have only been using the MFC255-CW for scanning purposes. The settings on my computer are to just print in black and white as well. So without using any magenta ink it has evaporated into thin air and now I can't even scan without buying another magenta ink cartridge. For that ink cartridge to last barely a month and to have printed at most 10 pages not even using any color ink...Read more
