After an absurd amount of research, this guy came up in the newspaper on special, I'd never heard of it because it was new, threw caution to the wind and bought it. And found this slightly too tall, a bit too plain whiter shade-o-beige bad boy to be just this side of perfect.
Here's the problem: we all want an all-in-one that does the dishes, changes the baby and serves us martinis promptly at 7. And if you've got the space and the money, it's doable. But the lesson for the rest of us is to spread the love a little and let one machine do the color, keep the ancient fax for the increasingly rare times you use it and concentrate on finding one workhorse to do your printing, copying and scanning -- which is what yer mod-ren small business is all about.
Those three jobs are handled with astonishing speed and grace on the D550. It sits on your desk, just a bit too high for my taste, causing you to either have to half stand up to view the 5-line control panel or, if...Read more

This has become a very good multifunction copier since having first installed it in the FAST TRACK mode. It would not respond to my computer's commands. After a lot of frustration and head scratching, I uninstalled everything in my computer that had anything to do with it. I then reinstalled it in the CUSTOM mode. Works fine now. A great value.

The printer software easily installed and the copy and printing functions work fine. But in the description it states "Built-in Ethernet port for network printing, PC faxing and scanning*" There is no Ethernet port on the one I received.
I guess the asterisk means only kidding.
Since we are not presently using this printer on our network it isn't worth the hassle sending it back. So the printer so far is okay. The overview needs to be edited.
