Summary: Great printer at a great price 2010-08-28
Comment: This one has it all and for the price, you get a lot for the money. The quality is great for it's size and home office use and having the scanner and fax as well is just an overall plus. You can copy book pages as well as feed papers and for it's size I don't think it's loud or clumsy. Highly recommended.

Summary: Price + Quality = Value 2010-08-23
Comment: Having trained sales representatives how to increase their sales by 'selling' the features and benefits of the company's product line, I will use the formula I created to review the Canon Multi-function printer I purchased recently. The price of the unit was reasonable--the quality of the product in relationsip the price creates one of the best values for anyone in need of a reliable printer/scanner/copier/FAX combo... in fact, in my opinion, since Canon has the clear edge on imaging technology, it's one of the best on the market--which makes it by far the best value in this price range. Thank You Canon and Amazon!

Summary: Great picture quality 2010-08-19
Comment: Tried printing, copying, scanning, sending a fax...all work great except for "Cons" listed below. I know it looks like there are more negatives than positives, but overall, it is a great all-in-one printer, especially considering the price. The negative comments are mainly to help you make a decision based on what type of functionality you require from a printer. I think this was an excellent buy (as long as it doesn't break any time soon!). I really like this printer a lot.
Pros:
1. great picture printing quality. Photos look high quality. Copies look like originals. (I copied a book page marked with pen and the copy looked like it had a real pen mark on it.)
2. If you forget to open the output paper tray when printing, it will open it for you.
3. Scanning resolution is adjustable, so you can balance quality vs file size needs.
4. One-step printing is very easy to figure out/use.
Cons:
1. A few times, copies had some streak lines on them. I thought the printer might have been dirty and I followed the instructions for cleaning, but the lines continued to occur. They only occurred for certain papers I was copying. Other papers I copied were fine.
2. I could not figure out how to hook up the printer to the computer so that I could send faxes without unplugging the phone line from the computer and moving it to the fax every time I wanted to send a fax. The provided instructions and online instructions were very unclear.
3. The online manual is not very well organized and is difficult to use.
4. The color ink cartridge doesn't last very long. (The black cartridge does, but has 3 times the amount of ink as the color cartridge.) I also prefer a separate cartridge for each color so that I only have to replace the color that is depleted.
5. The printer goes in to "power saver" mode, which is nice, BUT, when it does, it's difficult to tell that it is on (only the small "on" button is lit). This makes it more likely that one will forget to turn off the printer because at quick glance, it looks off.
6. difficult to copy out of textbooks.

Summary: Nice Job Canon 2010-07-23
Comment: My old Canon Pixma MP830 began to act up & streak after about 4 years of use; it's not cost efficient to think about getting one repaired so I started looking around at replacement machines. The MP830 had been a great machine but used 5 ink cartridges that cost about $70.00. I utilize all aspects so I needed another printer/ scanner / copier / fax. I found the MX330, read reviews and purchased it for less than the cost of 5 ink cartridges. It is easy to use, pretty fast and only uses 2 ink cartridges that will cost substantially less than I'm used to. Print speed is not quite as fast as my old, more expensive MP830 but it has some upgraded featues due to improvements in technology that my old one didn't. I can attach a scanned file to an email without saving it first, that's huge for me.
I'm partial to Canon printers but this one is tough to beat; every component works well. Print quality is good, PDF's from the scanner are crisp and clear, the copier is quick and also clear and the fax works well. Overall, this was a very good purchase for me.

Summary: Great printer for the price. 2010-06-20
Comment: This is a good printer, especially because it is not too expensive. It's pretty big & bulky, and not real quick printing, but that is my only "complaint." It's print quality is amazing, and it has tons of features that I will actually use! It is great for the average home who does not do a ton of print/copy jobs. I haven't tried the photo printing yet, but if the print/copy quality is any indication, I have no doubt it will be the same quality.
