3.0 out of 5 stars Wireless network is good, but guzzles ink, August 15, 2010

This all-in-one has some nice features and seems to put out pretty good quality fairly quickly. But be prepared to buy a lot
of ink. We use this printer only sparingly and yet have had to replace the black ink twice and the color ink once after only a month or so of use. It was so bad, I thought there must have been a leak. There is no leak, this thing just drink ink. The fact that it is tough to buy non-dell ink that will work in this printer means be prepared to spend a bit after you've ought the machine.

2.0 out of 5 stars They should give it away free, October 6, 2010

This review is from: Dell All-in-One Wireless Printer (V715w) (Office Product)
I had a canon for years and was more than happy with it. We decided we needed a fax machine and decided to get an all-in-one. I did some research and the v715w was rated well by consumer reports and I decided to go with it. What a mistake! For very basic operability, it is alright. But try to use the built-in functionality to print on both sides of a piece of paper and you'll be hitting your head against the wall in frustration and you will waste twice the paper you were trying to save. Then there is the ink. I was accustomed to refilling my ink cartridges myself or having the option of buying cheap replacement ink from the web. I quickly discovered that ink costs were going to be more than the printer itself in a few short months. Dell uses some kind of computer chip in this printer to keep track of pages printed with each cartridge and refuses to let you use the cartridge after it hits it's limit, even if you refill it with ink. I've done a pretty extensive search on the internet...Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Ink hog and unreliable, November 1, 2010

This review is from: Dell All-in-One Wireless Printer (V715w) (Office Product)
As other reviewers have noted, this machine sucks down ink at unbelievable rates. Additionally, I have experienced the print heads needing quite a few cleanings, as one or more of the base colors will stop printing halfway through the job. Of course, the cleanings suck up more ink.

I didn't have any problems setting it up on my home network, and it is fairly easy to use. Unfortunately, the ink issues and unreliability make any of the good traits absolutely pointless.
