This printer is fantastic and serves its purpose well. It does everything I need with ease. It prints with ease compared to other home printers. It also copies, scans, faxes, and produces photo's. The photo quality is superb for it to be a low cost printer. If the ink is low they photo's may seem a little off but nevertheless, they are almost lab quality prints. I could not be happier despite some bad reviews.

I've been a Dell customer for a long time, but I think they've become too big or diversified to offer the service they used to have...I got a Dell 922 this summer and was pleased with the speed and quality. Everything was fine -- until I needed ink cartridges.
Before the cartridges ran out, I went online through the convenient direct connection from the printer's toolbox. You can't buy the cartridges at any of the office supply places; you have to buy through Dell. I ordered the cartridges and they came within a couple of days. "This is great!" I thought.
Some time later, I needed to replace the black cartridge. When I got it in the printer and turned the printer back on, the cartridge didn't work. Upon inspection, I realized Dell had sent me cartridges for the 920 rather than the 922. So I called the toll-free number and quickly became lost in the system. When I began college in 2005, this was it. This was the printer that everyone got along with the laptop that everyone got. And one by one, all of my friends began to announce the failure of their Dell Photo All-in-One Printers. Most of the complaints I heard were that it plain "stopped working," whatever that meant. But I on the other hand did not seem to share those problems. When I wanted to print 50 page papers, it printed them quickly. When I wanted a high-quality photo, I got it. I was happy.
But recently, and suddenly, the quality of my little beloved printer took a nosedive. Sometimes it refuses to print, sometimes it denies being attached to my laptop, and sometimes it takes hour-long pauses between pages.
Another big problem has to do with cartridges. When I ordered directly from Dell everything worked fine. However I recently wanted to save money and got my cartridges filled at Walgreens. Big mistake. The printer will not recognize that they are full,...Read more
