Don't know what's up with that other guy, but this thing is not slow. It's probably the fastest printer I've owned. Mine Prints about 20 sheets a minute.

Couple of tips for the noobs: Don't buy official Ink. You want to pay $20 per cartridge instead of $3 for generic, you'd save money by going to the copy shop instead. Also, the handy dandy feature which tells you when your ink is low, is nothing but an ink/money waster. The software will claim your ink is out when you can shake the cartridge and easily see that you have more than half left. This was done on purpose to sell more ink. It will not let you continue to use a cartridge it believes is empty. You need to get the refillable cartridges with the reset chips. After that, all you need to buy is ink. Also, if you have a Mac, or something weird, go to the website and download the latest drivers (duh).

I have been a loyal Epson user until the #69 cartridges came out, and I bought one of the first models that used that cartridge. I didn't get 10 pages out of it until it was out of ink and stopped functioning.

So when I saw this unit - with exactly the features I wanted - I said to myself, "okay, I'll give it a try". I must say that I am overall pleased with the unit. Print quality is truly excellent, so good that I removed my laser printer from my desk and used the Workforce 315 exclusively. Sure it seem to take a while for the first page to come out due to being in standby, but once it is going - the speed is good, and flaming fast on draft mode!

Only complaint I have is that the ink thirst is still there. The plus is that unlike my previous experience with this generation of cartridge - now there are $3 generics on the market. Also the unit does not completely shut down when you are out of blank ink... and you have the option of using the 3 colors for...Read more
