HP 2140 Professional Quality Plain-Paper Fax and Copier (CM721A#B1H)

Comment: The fax machine itself is easy to set up and use, but at this two person office, we hardly ever send or get faxes anymore, and the ink cartridge still ran out after about 6 weeks. Probably 20 pages printed. This is unacceptable to me, since the cartridges cost $30 each. I would not buy this machine again for this reason. Our operating costs are going to run $250/year for a $100 machine.

Comment: I was looking to replace an old thermo fax machine for relatively little money. This machine fits the bill. Easy to use, paper feeds well, no problems so far.

Comment: So far under moderate use the Fax machine has worked flawlessly. Will be interested to see how long the ink cartridge lasts. I like HP products.

Comment: Decent FAX machine. Comes with less than ideal user's manual as it is easy to read but proves hard to find the answer you are looking for. It is supplied with a 3ml Ink Jet cartridge. This means spenfing an additional $33.00 for the more full inkjet cartdridge (17ml).
Best thing is the price. $50.00 is not that much for a decent fax machine.
This is NOT a machine you want to start with just pushing buttons.

Comment: I wasn't expecting much, but I consider it more than I was expecting, and my very limited use of it has been problem free. I'm sure that if I was using it extensively, the cost of the ink cartridges would soon make me wish I'd opted for a more expensive toner version, but I'm not using it much at all.
