HP Photosmart Premium TouchSmart Web All-in-One Printer

Comment: Bought this product a week ago, and have been using it pretty heavily since. All I have to say is, "Wow!" This great HP Premium TouchSmart Web printer has got to be the best printer I've gotten from HP. Once you hook it up to power and turn it on, it starts configuring itself into your home (i.e. wireless/wired network, other computers, etc.), and even shows you how to load the paper and ink cartridges on it's 4.3" touchscreen display.

It has astounding print quality, without sacrificing speed, and the ink cartridges are separate, so you only replace the color you need as you need it. This printer has a great modern design fit for any household, and looks great in any office building as well with it's neutral charcoal color. Also has a separate photo-paper tray, so you don't have to keep switching it out when you want to print photos versus text, vise-versa. You can easily hook up other devices to print from it via Bluetooth, or you can use either the USB 2.0 on the front or the memory card slots located there as well.

The Web ability is a great touch, given you can print movie tickets, coloring book pages, and print from Google maps very easily: just touch the icon and go! Typing is also easy on the large, adjustable touchscreen display.

Amazing printer, faxes with ease and speed, copies wonderfully, and scans with the best of 'em. Great job by HP.

(PS... Other info: Sits quiet, and doesn't get too hot when on constantly; prints pretty quiet, so need risk of waking anyone up after midnight when printing a school report or Office memo; crisp text/pictures; comes with HP Premium inks, with rich, deep color)

Comment: This printer was okay for the first 33 days. It won't print some websites. For some reason it doesn't understand the code on Yahoo Maps but prints Google Maps fine.

Then it died. It got an error that was fatal. Customer support spent a lot of time having me repeat the same steps over and over until they decided it wasn't going to work. When I asked for a NEW replacement unit and not a refurbished one, I was escalated to a case manager. I was promised a NEW replacement printer by the CM. I specifically asked and said I didn't want a refurbished printer as mine was essentially brand new. CM agreed and told me to keep the defective unit until the new printer arrived. I was sent a scratched refurbished printer with dirt under the glass. Then I had 2 printers to return, which I did.

Meanwhile HP would not send a replacement until the dirty refurbished unit was returned to them. I'd sent pictures so they could authorized the return. Yesterday the supposed new printer arrived (about a month after the new one died) and it is another scratched unit with dirty glass.

What is going on with HP? I used to think they were a solid company that stood behind its products. The CM says all the right things - but the results are not there. I'm waiting to see what is next. Meanwhile I go elsewhere to print.

Comment: i love this product. it was simple to setup and printing quality is good. the only downside is- it is heavy! if you have kids, there are a lot of cute apps for crafts, etc. i would recommend this to a family or small business. can't comment on the fax feature- i've never used it.

Comment: Bought this printer to replace my HP 2510 AIO. Great product overall. Only problem i had was similar to the issue I had with my 2510. The scan function and sending the item to a pc on the network is kinda iffy when the computers are connected wireless. With the PCs I have hardwired, no issues at all. Configuration was effortless also with almost no PC interaction. No issues at all when the printer found my network opposed to the 2510. Will recommend.
