"You get what you pay for" (or worse),

I recently purchased this printer and was surprised at how quickly the company shipped this item. Yes, looks like a great value, but know this before you make any decisions. The package does NOT include the following:
-USB cable (You will need to buy one separately: A-B type USB)
-Black ink cartridge
The price of the ink cartridges could vary, depending on where you want to purchase them. The black ink is sold for $19-$21; color from $20-$23. These cartridges are very small, so I would say they are pricey. If you are willing to spend more on ink, go for it.
UPDATE:
After owning this product for about a year, I can say that you should save those $30 and look for something better. If the package is missing the most important items and requires you to buy the most expensive ink cartridges, then it should, at least, print OK. After only SIX months, this product started printing slanted.
Rating goes down to 1/5.

The Lexmark Z2300 is a printer that appeals to those who seek a budget printer. With hopes of having a new printer for the price of a single ink cartridge I was lured in. I got mine at Sam's Club and gave it a try.
The unit feels and looks cheap. They only include one partial color cartridge and no USB cable (which is stated on the box so no points off yet). Installation was a problem in Windows XP SP2 (and I am very experienced with hardware/software). Both downloaded versions and the included software gave me headaches instead of results.
Bottom line: Cheap printer with the hopes of getting a bargain, but the printer didn't work so it is not a bargain.
* I ended up going with the HP Photosmart C4450 for only $59 it is a bargain because it is an all-in-one solution, looks good, and works! HP just makes good printers so look at their line instead.

Trap and nag,

Worst printer I've ever used. Worst, most nagging drivers ever. Actual print speed is acceptable, but each print job takes way too long to actually start. It's almost like they added a delay on purpose. If you you get an error window and want to cancel, clicking "cancel" isn't enough, you must also hold down the power button on the printer for three seconds. You must time yourself, there is no indication. Until you release the button, nothing changes. It requires 500MB of free space and 512MB Ram just to install this lousy driver! Calibration for new cartridge is compulsory. The freely available cartridges come with one-time use licences and shut down after one use. Refillable cartridges 14A and 15A almost impossible to get except online. Apparently, forced replacement is part of Lexmark's 'green' ideals. If you have no use for color printing and your color cartridge runs out, be prepared to click on warning windows for every print until you finally get so frustrated that you...Read more
