I purchased this printer because I need to send faxes a few times a week and got this all-in-one for a good price. It works fine for that. However, the office I usually fax has sent me faxes, and that part of the printer works poorly. I had no idea they'd be sending me a very large fax. I wasn't in the room when the fax was sent, and I only received about four pages. The fax was 38 pages long. I spent a good deal of time trying to figure out where/whether the fax was saved anywhere on my computer so I could print the rest of it. Not being able to find it, I called Lexmark. They said that it was "50-50" whether I'd be able to recover the fax, but after a few more questions it sounds like the chance of recovering the fax is about 0. The printer memory is very small, I was told, and they are aware that that is a big drawback. So, if the fax is an important feature to you, this is definitely not the fax to buy.

The previous reviewer apparently had problems understanding what this machine's fax function could do, and so did I, but I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. I had printed some documents on 32 lb glossy paper (which turned out beautifully) and left some of that paper in the printer. Later I faxed a test document from my office to this fax in my home. When I got home, no fax apparent. I got out the instruction manual but couldn't find an answer to how it could send a signal to my sending fax, and print documents, but couldn't print a fax. After a while I noticed a message in the message window that there was a fax in memory and I should load paper in the machine. I put in some 20 lb multipurpose paper, pressed the buttons it told me to press, and my test fax emerged.
I am really impressed that somehow the machine figured out I had the wrong paper loaded (at least I guess that's what happened).
This machine workes wonderfully as a wi-fi printer in a Mac Airport-based...Read more

In the case of this printer though, the $60 may have been a little too much. Scanner is weak at best, buttons/controls are confusing at best. Print quality is excellent though.
