True that the printer setup is more complex then a HP printer but thats just because they pack it better. The printer prints great.

We have all Apple Computers at our home business, networked. Got this baby set up, and the scanning opticals are just marvelous. I couldn't use a KM driver for the scanner, but Apple has a built-in scanning feature called, "Image Capture," that works fine with it. I print full-color brochures & they look great. As with most printers, you replace the toners at almost the cost of the machine, but the first set of toner lasted a year in our busy office with 2 users sharing one printer. You can turn off the "low on toner" alarm and keep using the toner for another month or two (not for high quality brochures, but for reports, etc.).

I use the fax to auto feed multi-paged docs and fax to myself using our online fax account and get great pdf docs.

So, after a year of all this, we expanded our office and then bought a second one.

Hi, I purchased a magicolor for my home office hoping that it would be a suitable sidekick for the business class printer scanner copier at the office. I wanted to be able to print 2-sided brochures, scan to email, fax and make a few copies. Well, the printer driver installation disk hung repeatedly on both of the XP machines I installed the printer on and when I started loading the applications disk, I was unable to easily determine what each of 6 or 8 programs was for. (I don't like to add lots of software that I won't be using, especially when each application adds background programs that run 24/7 and take resources.) After working through the installation, the display and interface proved to be completely un-intuitive. I am pretty techie and have used many printers and this is the most difficult to get functioning that I've experienced.

Print quality was good, but very slow in color...and the duplexer wasn't included.
