The Ricoh Aficio SP C222SF is an exceptional network-ready multifunction laser printer, or MFP, that does it all. The SP C222SF prints proposals, reports, Web content and whatever else you throw at it in sharp black & white or vivid color, at resolutions of up to 2400 x 600 dpi. The first page of the day is out of the printer in only 14 seconds, and the rest of your pages are printed--black & white, and color--at a rate of 16 per minute. The SP C222SF supports PCL5c, PCL 6, and PostScript3 emulation, and is compatible with both Mac and PC systems.
For easy sharing of hardcopy documents, the SP C222SF offers full-color and black & white scanning. You can scan documents with resolutions of up to up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, or convert scanned files to editable text. Black & white pages can be scanned in less than five seconds a page, while full-color pages can be completed in less than 10 seconds. You can also take advantage of the convenient "Scan To" features that allow you to distribute documents instantly: The SP C222SF's "Scan-To-Email" does not require a dedicated server or additional software, and you can upload files to a shared server or local drive with its "Scan-To-FTP" or "Scan-To-Folder" functionality.
When it's time to copy, this compact MFP offers laser-quality copies at resolutions up to 600 x 600 dpi, with the first copy of the day coming out of the paper tray within 30 seconds. Also included with the SP C222SF is MacScan software that allows for scanning from a Macintosh computer, and PageManager for Microsoft Windows, an easy-to-use application that enables automated file management and other time-saving functions.
With the SP C222SF's fax functions, you can send critical documents to customers, colleagues and other business partners with speed and convenience via Group 3 faxing. The SP C222SF also offers 20 one-touch numbers and a memory for 50 speed dial numbers for even greater convenience.

Equipped with a 250-sheet paper tray and standard 256 MB RAM (expandable to 512 MB), the SP C222SF features a convenient, compact, and user-friendly design, making it easy for small office users to complete jobs efficiently and move on to more critical work. By adding the optional TK1010 Paper Feed Unit, you can boost the paper capacity of the printer to 750 sheets. This sleek system is ideal for space-restricted environments. And to simplify its management, the C222SF features Ricoh's Status Image Monitor software, which enables you to check supply levels and change settings via the Web.

It prints beautifully. I love the duplex feature and my husband has put it to use on brochures for his work. We printed these double sided items manually previously. I am now scanning in my work and sending it on as PDF files rather than faxing and it was a snap. I was afraid that the included software would not be adequate to achieve this but after talking to a Ricoh representative; I was reassured and found it to be a simple operation and a time saver. I was looking at a necessary purchase of some pricey scanning software with another machine I considered. I have my C222SF connected by USB for now and set up was a snap. I understand there are more features with networking and I may switch to wifi if I move the machine. But when I installed it I found that it only has 128 MB of memory versus the stated 256. When I called Ricoh I did not get a strait answer why is that other than 128 MB allocated to printing while the machine itself prints its specs. of having only 128MB !
The other issue is that this machine supposed to be able to let you answer the telephone or receive a fax if you set it to Fax/Tel mode. But that does not work. It always take over the line once it rings weather fax or regular phone call. In contacting Ricoh they did not know anything about this feature or how it is supposed to work. I found myself educating them on that from my experience with other All-in-One machines such as by HP or Brother etc. They finally sent me a repair person who did not know a thing about the machine and got no help from Ricoh reps. either.
