This came free with a new laptop loaded with Vista Premium, so I figured it wouldn't be too difficult to get it to work with Vista. I was wrong. After installing the software on the included CD, the PC failed to even recognize the printer. I then went to Lexmark's website and after hunting around, found a Vista driver. I downloaded and installed it (there were no instructions on whether or how to roll back any previously installed Lexmark software) but it failed to fully install. I could get the printer to work, but the scanner and copier features didn't even show up and pressing their buttons didn't work at all. After several disconnected sessions with Lexmark's online tech support, I finally wrote an email. In response, I received a link to a new page that I hadn't seen before, including what appeared to be a new version of the Vista driver. I downloaded and installed it, and a week after getting the printer, it finally worked. I did have to download another patch to take...Read more

The Lexmark InkJet all in one printer X1270 is a "best buy",

My mom bought this printer for her laptop (which I always use) and I myself find it great. I do all of my homework on that computer and then print it in "normal" on this printer. I do at least four to five sheets or paper a week and it lasts for along time (the ink) and comes out great. It prints straight, doesn't change to diagonal on me and all in all I have never gotton a bad grade when typing up my homework =].
This printer is completely good looking too, and it matches my parents' office perfectly. Actually, if I stop to ponder it, it would probably look good in any room. Including my own if I tried it there.
The scanner works fine as well. Not as great as the ones at my school, however good, nay, I shall go a step further, great for thr price. I used to keep up a website, and scanned all my work with this. The "preview" makes it look terrible, but when you finally click the "scan now" button, it's great.
A perfect buy, I am looking...Read more

Worst Printer I've Ever Owned,
October 15, 2007 Michael Dalton (USA) - See all my reviews
This thing is garbage. I've owned it for a few months and the ink is gone already. Cartridges are VERY VERY small. Also, Lexmark intentionally makes the cartridges IMPOSSIBLE to re-fill yourself. If you're looking to throw money down the drain, this printer is for you. Terrible. Just terrible. Stay far, far away from this piece of garbage.
